Painting of the Deweguns or Drum Strykers

We are calling out to all Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists from coast to coast to help us pay this Legacy Journey forward in volunteering their time in
creating a painted inspiration onto the Deweguns or Drum Strykers.

Upon completion of the lacing process, selected volunteer artists will be sent one Dewegun to paint as per their envisioning upon honouring Chanie’s
story and Gord’s call to build a better Canada. The same holds true as well for the Grandmother’s Arms/Strykers, which will also be ‘Dressed’ by selected volunteer artists.

Note: This process may take a bit longer to complete, as we want to ensure that every artist has sufficient time to allow for their artistic energy to flow onto the canvas of the Drum. If we could make a wish though, our desired overall completion would see the creative portion of this journey completed by the end of the summer of 2023.

Please complete the form below if you are interested in offering your artistic abilities to the 101 Deweguns project.
